VIRTUAL FIELD TRIPS
Take a Virtual Field Trip
When you are not able to visit a national or regional park, we can still bring the magic of our field trips to virtual classrooms and those homebound or in assisted living facilities. Here are some links with short descriptions for those sites. You will have fun learning to observe our natural world and learning about the wilderness and wildlife.

Big Sur Elephant Seals
Elephant seal colony in Big Sur, CA. Elephant seals form colonies on the beach for a few short months from late fall through winter during their breeding season. After giving birth, the females nurse the pups, breed with the males, and leave. The pups stay on shore after both the males and females have returned to the ocean. Elephant seals were once hunted almost to extinction, but are now protected by the Marine Mammal Protection Act and have made an impressive recovery. Video by Sandor Havasi Visit www.havasiwf.org
