Our next family nature hike with Oak Park Neighborhood for Learning is scheduled for Saturday, May 18th at 8:00am at the same location as the last hike (Oak Park Community Center and Duck Pond, 1000 N. Kanan Rd).  The hike is free and geared towards parents with preschool-aged children, though older siblings are welcome as well.  All athletic abilities are welcome, as this will be a leisurely hike on mellow terrain, lasting about an hour. This time we expect to venture a bit further into the park and look for some native Chaparral animals such as Red-tailed Hawks, Western Fence Lizards, and Brush Rabbits, along with the Western Pond Turtles and variety of waterfowl in the duck pond.

Meet us at the picnic tables at the south end of the Kanan Road parking lot.  Please come dressed appropriately.  Long pants and a lightweight long-sleeved shirt are encouraged, as are hats and suitable walking shoes.  Remember to bring a water bottle and sunscreen!

We look forward to seeing you there!
